Hmph

Well after last update things training wise has stifled a little. I’m struggling to get up to 3mi and I’m not 100% sure why. I seem to be having issue with cramp which could be mostly down to fluid intake so I’m trying to sort that out but the weirder of the two is my left quad just doesn’t seem up to the task at all. I’m hoping some slight changes I’ve made since my last run will help me crack and surpass the 3mi mark and get me back on track in time for Freckleton.

In other amazingness news, not only have I received my special edition of GTA IV but I’m now also on the FM Live beta which is bloody fantastic! I’m really enjoying checking this game out and what I’ve seen so far is persuading me to purchase/subscribe to this game upon release. So much fun that after this post I’ll be loading it up for some games :)

Hello! I thought I’d register and it would make it easier to chat to you about training as we are both going for the same goals.

It sounds like you’re doing really well, and I’m dead jealous of the whole Wii thing. Does it make much of a difference then?

I’m sure you’ll crack 3 miles as you sound quite dedicated to training. Your quad issue could be to do with gait and/or trainers – have you been to a proper running shop for a gait analysis? They normally do them for free because they hope you’ll buy some new trainers. It may help, or at least cross off a possibility. I was having ankle problems which I thought was down to a sprain or something, but it turned out that my left foot over pronates quite a lot so I bought some new trainers which had more support and it has transformed my training.

Well done anyway! Hopefully, as you said in your email, we’ll get nice weather for it this weekend. It would be nice to have the extra motivation to achieve our personal goals.

Have you tried mapmyrun.com? It’s good for stealing other people’s good running routes! ;o) Also, the runnersworld website has great advice from experienced runners – they may have something intelligent to say about your cramp and quads.

    xx
